Jonathan Akan Johnson also known as JJ, Jay, or Tray Jay was born August 6, 2000, in Danane, Ivory Coast, West Africa, to the union of Emmanuel Jessey and Comfort L. Biah.
With a long history of seizures, Akan's time on earth was cut short. During his short time with us, he enjoyed singing, music, drawing, traveling, reading his Bible and attending church services at his church, North Point Church. More than anything he loved his family. He shared a special bond with his mother, and they were always together. He also kept in touch and had a relationship with almost all of his cousins, his siblings and enjoyed spending time with his beloved son Ke’Andrey, who he called "KJ" or his best-known nickname "Golden".
We feel so void knowing he isn’t here anymore, but Akan was so near to Gods heart, and so was God to his. He understood the significance of relying on Jesus Christ for strength throughout his journey. Despite the amount of pain we feel, we firmly believe that God does not make mistakes, which gives us the assurance that he is now safe and at peace.
He leaves behind his mother, Comfort Biah Wuanti; father, Emmanuel Jessey; son, Ke'Andrey; siblings, Lee Yao, Olive Dahn, Preston Mahsua, Stanley Dunah, and Rebecca Johnson; nieces, Leesa Garleh and Faith Mahsua; nephews, Prince Garleh, Isaiah Kollie, Elvis Garleh, Ethan Garleh, Isreal Wiah; many uncles, aunties, and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents.
