JUANA MENDOZA ALVAREZ
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Juana Mendoza Alvarez, 61, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019, in Laredo, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m., following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the family, in the care of Maria Mendoza. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Ss. Mary Mathias Catholic Church. The Reverend Chris Weber will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Juana was born on August 1, 1958, in Apatzingán, Mexico, the daughter of Miguel and Elisa Mendoza Alvarez.
Juana enjoyed knitting hats and was a great cook, especially known for her flour tortillas. Juana helped anyone that she could and was a giving person. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Juana is survived by her children, Miguel Gutierrez, Teresa Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez, Yvonne Gutierrez, Abram Espinoza (Ana), and Claudia Espinoza; grandchildren, Cecilia, Niko, Vinny, Hugo, Carlos, Julian, Adrian, Jaime, Daniel, Octavio, Flor, Rogelio, Ivan, Isaura, Esmeralda, Noel, Omar, Brian, Abram Jr., Elisa, Ruby, Thylie, Daniel, Ilia, Elisa, Anthony, Elianna, Sophia, and Javier; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Cirilo Mendoza, Miguel Mendoza, Rodolfo Mendoza (Eva), Jesus Mendoza, Jose Mendoza, Antonio Mendoza (Graciela), Maximina Mendoza, and Maria Mendoza (Honorio); and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; baby brother, Daniel; and adolescent brother, Daniel.
