KAREN LEE MORAN

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Karen Lee Moran, 86, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Karen was born on September 5, 1938, in Drury Township, Illinois, the daughter of John M. and Lydia M. Meddox Stanford. She married Harold Richard Moran on May 25, 1958, in Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1998.

Karen was a 1956 graduate of Muscatine High School. She retired from UnityPoint Health and from farming and showing horses. She attended Sweetland Methodist Church. Karen was a member of Ladies of the Moose, Ladies United Methodist Women, Muscatine Saddle Club, Red Hats, Pork Producers, and Women’s American Legion Auxiliary.

Karen enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, sewing, watching crime shows and country western movies.

She kept her mind sharp with crosswords puzzles and solitaire. She loved cooking and baking her favorite recipes. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, as they were her main joy. She was their #1 supporter. She loved her family unconditionally, offering constant support, warmth, and a love that never wavered no matter the circumstances.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Joyce Moran Tulliani; son, James (Wilhelmina) Moran; grandchildren, Andrew (Angela) Alt, Christopher (Ashley) Meincke, Matthew Bechstein, Tyrel Bechstein, Sierra (Jesus) Gamon, Marisa (Joseph) Tulliani-Holtz, Roxy (Cale) Moran, Nicholas Tulliani, Elijah Moran, Kaitlyn (Dylan) Henkel; 15 great grandchildren; and siblings, Mary K. Kennard and James (Barb) Stanford.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; daughter, Judy L. Moran-Meincke; and sister, Marilyn Loving.
