KATHY VAN BLARICOME

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Kathy Van Blaricome, 61, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at her home.

Per her wishes, she was cremated. Giving Kathy her final farewell on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the American Legion from 1 PM until 5 PM. Let’s make this party one to remember in honor of the crazy and beloved woman. Please note that alcohol will not be permitted, and if anyone is found to be partaking in any kind of substances, they will be asked to leave. And of course, in true Kathy fashion, if she did not like you, you will be asked to leave.

Kathy was born on March 6, 1963, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Larry Van Blaricome and Carol J. Soteros.

Kathy was a graduate of Muscatine High School, where she later worked as a food service worker. She was also a CNA.

Kathy enjoyed her dog, Sally, and her cat, Smoke. She loved being outdoors and sitting on the porch. Kathy had a goofy personality and was very outspoken, making sure you always knew where you stood with her. She was a very giving person and liked to give to people rather than receive from them. She loved taking care of people and her family, especially her grandson, Alex.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Kurri Van Blaricome; four grandchildren, Alexavior Van Blaricome, Travarian Van Blaricome, Issiah Thomsen, and Kielanie Coulter; siblings, Tammy McGreer (Brian), Carrie Hocke (Mark), Tracy Fry, Lena Haines, and Tara Bruce; additional siblings, Karen Dipple (Danny), Tamara Van Blaricome, Jolene Carpenter (Brad), Mike Van Blaricome, and Jeff Blaricome; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kaitre Mae Van Blaricome, on September 1, 2013.
