LARRY ROBERT GREEN

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Larry Robert Green, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Lone Tree Nursing Home.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Susan Bantz will officiate. Larry was born on April 2, 1941, in Iowa City, IA, to Bob and Denise Wolford Green. He married Bonnie McKinney on February 14, 1999.

Larry retired from Monsanto in 1993 after 31 years. He had other part time jobs after that taking full retirement in 2006. Larry served in the Army in Germany for 3 years. Larry farmed part time, crops, cows, and pigs. He was an active member in the Nichols Christian Church for several years and was a member of the American Legion Post 27.

Larry enjoyed spending time with family and friends; woodworking and making benches for each of his children, playing cards, and fishing trips to Minnesota and hunting trips to Wyoming.

Larry is survived by his wife; three sons, Brad (Angie) Green of Minnesota, Brian (Barb) Green of Minnesota, and Bret (Kari) Green of North Dakota; one stepson, Dave Lynch of Nichols; three stepdaughters, Char (Mark) Madsen of Atalissa, Kimberly Jones of Fargo, North Dakota, and Teri (Tom) Schmidt of Florida; one brother, John (Pat) Green of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Jerry Durst.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Green; and sister, JoAnn Durst.
