MUSCATINE, Iowa – Lesa Ann McFarland, 51, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Funeral Service for the McFarland family will be 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Ss. Mary Mathias Church. Lesa was born on September 1, 1974, in Iowa, the daughter of Penny Hahn Powell.

Lesa graduated from cosmetology school and later worked for the Muscatine Community School District in food services at Susan Clark Junior High. She had a wide variety of passions, including making crafts, reading, gardening, and listening to music. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, singing, dancing, and staying active by going on walks and runs. Additionally, she loved cutting and styling hair, learning new things, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and dogs.

Lesa is survived by her son, Johnathan McFarland; and her sister, Jelene Purinton.

She is preceded in death by her mother; her children, Dakota Whitlow, Austin Harris, Ryle McFarland, Mark McFarland, and Ryan Scott McFarland; and sisters, Sheila Ann Purinton, Sherry Ann Purinton, and Jeanie Sue Purinton.
