LISA JOY DUGAN

MUSCATINE, IA – Lisa Joy Dugan, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by family.

Lisa was born on March 9, 1959, in Muscatine, daughter of Ronnie and Ruth Noret Merrill. Lisa graduated from the class of 1978 at Muscatine High School. She married Michael Dugan on October 20, 1979, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Muscatine. She worked at Lutheran Living for 15 years and later transitioned to in-home care. She then became a homemaker.

Lisa enjoyed bird watching, especially her hummingbirds. She liked to be in nature, often taking walks along the river and capturing photos. She liked watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was a season ticket holder for the Iowa Hawkeyes, going to many games with family. Most of all, she loved spending time with family.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Barry (Chelsea) Dugan, Corinna Dugan, and Tara (Cliff) Poe; grandchildren, Chandler, Jude, Alexis, Vaughn, Lainey, Scarlett, Addison, Sullivan, Dexter, Ellen, and Ember; mother, Ruth Merrill; siblings, Pam (Roger) Brown, Sherry (Kirk) Rakestraw, and Craig Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Patrick; father, Ronnie; grandparents; in-laws, Dan and Sandra Dugan; and sister-in-law, Laura Merrill.
