LORENE MARIE NORRIS

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Lorene Marie Norris, 62, passed peacefully from this world on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Born on August 19, 1963, and raised in Muscatine, Lorene Marie Norris (Hamilton) graduated from Muscatine High School in 1981. She worked for the Muscatine school system, where she developed many friendships. Lori showed her adoration for children not only with her daughters and students, but also her work with kids that have special needs at New Choices. She married the love of her life, Cayce Norris on September 12, 1987.

Lori loved gardening, reading, cooking shows and walks. She was always cheering on the Cubs, Bears, Hawkeyes and any team Heather or Kyrie was on. She was the number one fan at any theater performance Meg and Tad were in and the first to rise for a standing ovation.

She loved the wind in her hair while on the back of Cayce’s Harley as they rode around town, Conesville and even Sturgis. She was happiest at family and friend gatherings.

She always found a thrill in searching around town for the best bargain and taking leftovers home from restaurants. 

Lori is survived by her parents, Richard and Sharon Hamilton; brother, Rick Hamilton; husband of 38 years, Roy (Cayce) Norris; mother-in-law, Evelyn Bunn; her daughters, Megan Paulson and Heather Norris; grandchildren, Kyrie Enriquez, Mary-Kate, Leah, and Lilly; son-in-law, Tad Paulson; nephews, Josh, Jake and niece Jessica Stroughmatt; aunt, Pat; and great grand-nephews, Peyton, Daxton, André, and cousins.

Lori was preceded in passing by her beloved sister, Leanne Stroughmatt; great grandmother, Hattie Proffitt; grandparents, Marvin and Iris Burke; her aunt, Connie Bollman and uncle Jim Burke; father-in-law, Jack Bunn; and brother-in-law, Ben Hopkins.  

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed at the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
