LORI MARIE MUÑOZ

BLUE GRASS, Iowa – Lori Marie Muñoz, 42, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at her home.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Liston will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to her children, in care of Juan and Pam. Out of respect for Lori and her family, please do not wear silver to the visitation or service. Lori was born on March 5, 1983, in Iowa City, the daughter of Pam Sanders and Darryl Childers. She married Juan Muñoz Torres on October 19, 2013, at the Wildcat Den in Muscatine.

Lori worked at Urgent Care for many years.

Lori lived life to the absolute fullest. Her favorite saying was “Everything will be fine.” and loved taking photos. More than anything, she loved her mom, children, and family.

Lori is survived by her husband, Juan; children, Eliana ‘Ellie’ Berry and her fiancé, Jorge Montoya; Maliya ‘Mia’ Berry, Izayah ‘Izaac’ Muñoz, Amiyah ‘Mymy’ Muñoz; mother, Pam Sanders; father, Darryl Childers; several aunts and uncles; other family members; and partner, Frank Eckhardt.

She is preceded in death by her son, Ricardo Marcel ‘Ricky’ Berry on May 30, 2005; maternal grandparents, Donna Farmsworth and Nate Sanders; and paternal grandparents, Blossom and Bill Childers.
