Lucas was born on December 20, 1986, in Muscatine, the son of Kenneth William Nesbit and Rita Lynne Nesbit. He was engaged to Ashley Lett; they have been together for 3.5 years.
He attended Muscatine High School, later receiving his GED in 2004, with the highest scores possible, acing all the tests. He was a very hard worker and a jack of all trades. One of his first jobs was working for his uncle Rick at Curtis Pest Control, later working with his Aunt Liz. He also worked for Island Auto. He then worked for Tico Investments doing maintenance for 11 years. His boss, Brian was a great mentor.
As a child, he played Muscatine Youth Baseball on the Pizza Hut team. He was an avid ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ collector. Being the amazing artist that he was, he recently restored a ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ themed dresser that he was very proud of. Lucas enjoyed playing video games, darts, going fishing, taking his dog for walks and hikes through water, mushroom hunting, playing horseshoes with his dad, and watching movies with Ashley. His favorite movie was Roadhouse. He loved spending time with his fiancée and his sisters. He was a loving father to Tyler James of South Dakota and a bonus son and daughter, Dylan and Katona. He cherished the time that he spent with his aunts, cousins, and family.
Lucas is survived by his fiancée Ashley; siblings, Felicia Nesbit (Michael Brown) and their children, Reid, Collin, and Legend Nesbit, Amber Nesbit, Tanya Jorgenson (Jesse) and their children, Matthew Rasmussen, Hailey Rasmussen, Gabriella Garcia, and Alonzo Garcia, and Christopher Scott Brown (Joni) and their children, Treyden and Addyson; his son, Tyler; nephews, Reid Nesbit, Collin Nesbit, and Legend Nesbit; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his dog, Atlas and his cat, Gandalf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Rita Nesbit; maternal grandparents, Charles and Delores Nesbit; and paternal grandparents, Marvin and Ruth Crabtree.
