Mabel was a 1952 graduate of Muscatine High School and 1954 graduate of Muscatine Junior College (MCC). She was employed at Grain Processing Corporation and later at Kent Feeds for 40 years before retiring in 1994. She volunteered for the Salvation Army ringing the bell at Christmas.

Mabel enjoyed traveling and had been in all 50 states, Spain, and Switzerland. She enjoyed taking walks, taking care of children and pets, day trips, working outside, and watching sports on TV, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. Mabel played the piano, organ, marimba, flute, oboe, clarinet, violin, viola, and cello. Mabel was a devoted cat owner and cared for many cats in her home over the years. She enjoyed attending a monthly Birthday Club, and a Craft Group where they made greeting cards. Mabel was crowned Prom Queen 2024 at Lutheran Living.

She will be deeply missed by nieces and nephews; cousins; and many caring and loving friends.
