MARILYN SUE WAGG PHILLIPS 


MUSCATINE, Iowa – Marilyn Sue Wagg Phillips, 85, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at her home.


Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Clay Harper will officiate. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery.


Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of her husband, Buck. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.


Sue was born on September 26, 1940, in Louisa County, the daughter of Albert ‘Don’ Wagg and Mary F. Hank Creamer. She married Sherdie ‘Buck’ Phillips on September 21, 1957, in Muscatine.


Sue enjoyed drinking coffee, sewing quilts, the Blue Grass Festival, and the Old Thrashers for over 50 years. Most of all, she loved attending her grandkid’s activities.


Sue is survived by her husband, Buck; children, Roxane (Ron Greene) Phillips, Rocky (Judi) Phillips, Ricky (Shelly) Phillips, Marla (Robb) Gabriel, Lisa (Kelly) Coffman, and Kelli Sue Phillips; grandchildren, Jason Wheeler, JoRenea (Rusty) Daufeldt, Gaylon (Tashia) Wheeler, Jennifer (Steve) Reynolds, Jamie (Randy) Phillips, Rocky ‘Big Dog’ (Michelle) Phillips, Ashley Phillips, Tyson (Lindsey) Phillips, Alex Schell, Kelly Howlett, and Nick Coffman; great grandchildren, Chase Wheeler, Kylee Wheeler, Kennedy Daufeldt, Kylie Daufeldt, Kynzee Dahnke, Waylin Reynolds, Cael Phillips, Trevor Phillips, Jalynn Phillips, Fred Phillips, Rory Phillips, Esther Phillips, Jaxson Phillips, Sawyer Phillips, Victoria Schell, Bryce Kaster, Leyah Kaster, Jalysa Kaster, Jaleyce Kaster, Lilly Howlett, Brylie Coffman, Hadley Coffman, and Huntleigh Coffman; and missed by her special nephews, Gaylon (Katrina) Harper and Clay (Harriet) Harper.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Don Wagg and Mary (Alfred) Creamer; son, Joey Lee Phillips; grandson, Jacob Phillips; sister, Beverly Hopkins; brother in infancy, Dennis; and special nephew, Dennis Hopkins.
