MARLENE A. ANDERSON

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Marlene A. Anderson, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Sharon Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Julie Stauffer. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Marlene was born on December 1, 1938, in Muscatine, the daughter of Curtis E. and Dorothy Dickerson Edwards. She married James Stauffer and they had three daughters, Julie, Kelly, and Connie. She then married Larry Anderson, and they had one daughter Laura.

She was an owner/operator for Edwards Tavern for 32 years. Marlene was very active in neighborhood watch and  supporting the community. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, craft shows, yard sales, going to the casino, baking, cooking and having family gatherings.

Marlene is survived by her children, Julie Stauffer, Kelly See, Connie Doak (Bruce), and Laura Liegois (Jason); grandchildren, Jessica Stauffer, Cody See (Jaslin Luna), Emilee Marler, Jacob Liegois (Jaya Scherkenbach), and Madeline Liegois; great grandchild, Mateo-Luna See; and two sisters, Arlinda Wendland and Gail Carrier.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elva Bledsoe; infant sister, Nancy Edwards; and son-in-law, Richard See.
