MARLENE M. SCOGGINS

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Marlene M. Scoggins, 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Lutheran Living.

There will be no funeral services at this time. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Humane Society or Beacon of Hope Hospice. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Marlene was born on October 3, 1933, in Brillion, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Hazel Hagenow Reineck. She married Charles H. Scoggins on October 7, 1956, at the United Methodist Church in Rochelle, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2013.

She enjoyed playing bingo, music, shopping, going to the movies and going out to eat. Spending time with her family and was a great cook. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marlene was a very sociable person who never met a stranger.

Marlene is survived by her children, Michael Scoggins of Cedar Rapids and Debbie Hazelwood and her husband, Rick, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Samantha Smith (Allen), Sarah Frickenstein (Greg), Shaylene Johnson (Chris), and Havalah Scoggins; great grandchildren, Jared, Blakely, Clay, Madison, Richard, and Wesley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Dawn Scoggins; parents; grandson, Bryan Scoggins; siblings, Buealh, Hollace, Laverne, Ray, Betty, Joe, Milton, Harriette, Alyce, Audrey, and Wayne.
