Mary was born on November 23, 1953, in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of William Claus and Bertha Ann (Swanson) Havemann. She married Allen Victor Jacobson on May 29, 1982, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Muscatine.

Mary graduated from Muscatine High School in 1972. She attended college at Muscatine Community College and the University of Iowa. She worked as a customer services manager for most of her career.

She enjoyed traveling, hosting family events, and keeping up with her high school friends. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Mary devoted her life to her children. Her happiest moments were when her house was full of noise, love, and laughter. She loved having all of her children over to her home and cherished watching her family grow as her children married and had children of their own. Mary also stayed closely connected to her siblings and their families throughout the years and especially at Christmas. She loved the Christmas season and helped her family build countless wonderful memories and, even for her children, family homes in Muscatine were always "home" when it was Christmas time.

Mary is survived by her husband, Allen V. Jacobson of Hugo, MN; her children, Kyle A. Jacobson and wife, Anna, of Mounds View, MN, William G. Jacobson and wife, Brooke, of Chisago City, MN, Michele A. Yeazle and husband, Michael, of Isanti, MN, Allison J. Bienko and husband, Alex, of Essex, MD, and Andrew R. Jacobson of Minneapolis, MN; step-daughter, Nicole G. Toenies and husband, Michael, of Henderson, MN; grandchildren, Owen J. Jacobson and Kaiden A. Jacobson; step grandchildren, Madelyn Yeazle, Jack Yeazle, Lauren Sheran, Trinity Babcoch, and Salem Babcoch; her siblings, Thomas H. Havemann and wife, Judy, of Muscatine, IA, and Carol A. Havemann-Lynch of Houston, TX; and her siblings-in-law, Robert G. Jacobson and wife, Kathy, of Osceola, WI, Susan D. Karpenske and husband, Leroy, of Amery, WI, Joyce A. Schmidt and husband, Ed, of Hastings, MN, and Dennis L. Jacobson and wife, Mary, of Egan, MN. Mary is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her aunts, Anna C. Havemann and Louisa W. Havemann; her brother, Ronald W. Havemann and wife, Mary Ann, formerly of Oakland, later Pinole, CA; her sister, Janice L. Suhl and husband, Donald and her sister-in-law, Beverly Suhl, all formerly of Muscatine, IA; she is also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joseph G. Lynch, formerly of Houston, TX.

Allen would like to thank his extended family and close friends for all their comfort, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
