MUSCATINE, Iowa – May Bell Lucas, 89, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Addington Place.
Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Dan Schoepf will officiate. Burial will be in Watkins Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
May was born on May 1, 1936, in Perry, Missouri, the daughter of James and Gertrude Williams Cozad. She first married William Morgan and had two children, Willa and Glen. May later married David Lucas and had two children, Angie and Scott.
May worked for the Muscatine School District for 34 years as a bus driver. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
May enjoyed being outside, working in the yard, mowing, and taking care of her rentals. She loved flowers and chocolate. Most of all, she loved her grandkids and dogs.
May is survived by her children, Willa Lee, Angie (Jay) Kemp, and Scott (Shawn) Lucas; grandchildren, Alishia Lee, Nickie (Sotirios) Gatsiopoulos, Heather (Chad) Winkinhofer, Alex (Mallorie) Kemp, Lucas (Allison Steahr) Kemp, and Blake (Grace) Kemp; great grandchildren, Stephanie (Fidel) Sandoval, Dakota (Clay) Allred, Selene Gatsiopoulos, Corbin Winkinhofer, Logan Winkinhofer, Willow Kemp, Wyatt Kemp, Lincoln Kemp, Tatum Kemp, and Cash Kemp; great great grandchild, Landree Sandoval; sister, Alma Shank; and daughter-in-law, Derri Morgan.
May is preceded in death by her parents; son, Glen Morgan; grandson, Mike Diveney; siblings, Madeline Black, JoAnn Baker, James F. Cozad Jr., Gertrude Coleman, and Deborah Mitchell; and son-in-law, Steve Lee.
