MELISSA ‘MELI’ R. DURBOROW

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Melissa ‘Meli’ R. Durborow, 47, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at her home.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Point Shelter in Weed Park in Muscatine, the shelter is across from the Aquatic Center, up the hill. Meli was born on March 23, 1977, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Roger and Debra Lindstrom Roser.

Meli served in the United States Navy for 4 years.

She loved and playing video games, Bioshock, WoW, MMORPGs. Meli would multitask listening to her comfort shows, supernatural, CSI, NCSI, and Bones while reading, especially Steven King books. Meli enjoyed taking walks in the early mornings and late evenings, while listening to audio books.

Meli was a single mother, raising Thai Durborow and Skylar Durburow. Meli and her sons were a very tight knit family, and her sons didn’t just lose their mother, but they lost their best friend. She was always very easy to talk to and was someone you could go to no matter what, she was home. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite flower was daffodils. Meli had a deep love for music, her favorite artist was P!nk.

She always wanted to visit Ireland and was planning on moving to Scotland with her fiancé in the future. She loved animals and always had cats, her childhood cat, smokey, lived to be 20 years old and her son’s childhood cat, Baby, lived 21 years old. Her cats resembled Meli, as they were very loving and sweet.

Meli is survived by her sons, Thai Durborow and his significant other, Alyssa Miller and Skylar and his significant other, Nikki Diehl; Fiancé, Graham McCutcheon; her cat, Illidan; and her brother, Russel ‘Russ’ Roser.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
