NANCY SUE VETTER

URBANDALE, Iowa – Nancy Sue Vetter, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Becky Meade will officiate. Burial will take place in B’Nai Moses Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Dean Vetter for a future educational fund for her grandson, Daniel.

Nancy was born on February 24, 1951, in Muscatine, the daughter of Dr. Jack L. ‘Pat’ and Bessie Grant Pearlman. She married Dean Vetter on July 6, 1975, in Muscatine, Iowa.

She graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1969 and attended Kirkwood Community College and University of Iowa. Nancy was the owner of Muscatine Better Auction in the 1980’s. She also owned and operated Iowa Custom Murphy Beds. Nancy was a political activist and was the former President of Urbandale Democrats. She was also CWA 7102 – Union Steward at Qwest Communication, she retired in 2008.

Nancy enjoyed collecting antiques. She was very active on social media, keeping in touch with many beloved friends, she was highly thought of by many people. She loved to support her children through their activities and events.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dean Vetter of Urbandale; her children, Joshua Vetter and Lenaiya Vetter, both of Urbandale; grandchildren, Zayde Vetter of Mckinney, Tx, and Daniel Vetter of Urbandale, IA; and her siblings, Fran Weber of West Des Moines, Jane Myers of Kansas City, MO, and Karen Poe of Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
