GRANDVIEW, IOWA – Neva Welk, 91, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her home.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday February 24, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral home. Pastor Willie Rosin will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of John Volkl.   Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Neva was born on November 11, 1933, in Iowa, the daughter of Howard W. and Ellen Marie Haynes Herlein. She married Richard Welk in June 1981, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine.

Neva worked as a CNA at the Wapello nursing home.

She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower beds, and doing lawncare. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Neva is survived by her four sons, John Volkl, Tim Volkl and wife, Lynn, Wayne Volkl and wife, Shelley, and Roy Volkl and wife, Vicki; several grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; children, Dorothy Sturmer and Howard Volkl; and her siblings Nina and Leroy.
