PAMELA ANN BAARS
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Pamela Ann Baars, 72, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the local Muscatine Non-Emergency Transport and Muscatine Senior Resources. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Pam was born December 11, 1953, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Albert L. Schumacher and Geraldine R. Sindt Schumacher. She married Robert F. Baars on May 13, 1978, in Muscatine; they later divorced.
Pam was a laboratory technician for over 30 years at Muscatine General Hospital. She was a 50 year member of the Women of The Moose.
She found great joy in crafting, collecting, shopping, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed her Caribbean cruises. She was an avid Hawkeye Football and Chicago Cubs fan. Above all, she deeply cherished the time she spent with her family, holding a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and her two special nieces.
Survivors include her children, Brian Baars (Sonia) of Muscatine, and Beth Colón (Edwin) of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Brayden and Silas Baars, and Lux and Lilyana Colón; her brother, Craig Schumacher (Natalie) and their daughters, Hayley and Lauren; aunt, Marilyn Schumacher; and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles, Richard ‘Dick’ Schumacher and Gene and Shirley Sindt.
