PATRICIA L. ‘PAT’ CROUSE

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Patricia L. ‘Pat’ Crouse, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Wesley United Methodist Church. A time for food and fellowship will immediately follow the Celebration of Life at the Wesley Fellowship Hall. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to TTT for camp scholarships or the Muscatine High School Class of 1953 Scholarship Fund. Pat was born on May 23, 1934, on the family farm in Muscatine, the daughter of Lee C. and Phyllis H. Starke Toyne. Pat graduated from Muscatine High School in 1952. Pat married Clark D. Crouse on December 5, 1953, Clark preceded Pat in death on January 25, 2019.

After raising her daughters, Pat went back to college and earned her teaching degree at the University of Iowa. Pat worked for the Muscatine School District as a 1st grade teacher for 20 years. Pat was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was active in various church functions.  After retirement, Pat enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Pat enjoyed volunteering for the YWCA and TTT, golfing with friends, playing cards, and visiting with her daughters and being involved in their activities.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Jill Crouse and Julie Crouse Doohan and husband, Mike; her sister, Mary Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded by her parents; husband, Clark; brother, George Toyne; sister, Barbara Heubner; and aunt, Verda M. Starke.
