PATRICIA ‘PATTY’ GREEN

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Patricia Christyne ‘Patty’ (Smith) Green, 74, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family.

Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Burial will take place in Nichols Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Patty was born on April 2, 1951, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Lawrence and Geraldine Plank Smith. She married John Raymond Green on July 25, 1970, at the Nichols Christian Church.

She graduated from West Liberty High School and then from Scott Community College with her RN nursing degree. She retired from the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after almost 30 years.

Patty was a member of the Nichols Christian Church and enjoyed riding horses, shopping with her family, and attending her grandchildren’s events. Family was a very important part of Patty’s life.

She is survived by her husband, John Raymond Green of Muscatine; two sons, Gregory ‘Greg’ Allen Green and his wife, Angela Sue ‘Angie’, of Bainbridge, Indiana, and Matthew ‘Matt’ Raymond Green and his wife, Kimberly Kaye ‘Kim’, of Muscatine; four grandchildren, John Thomas ‘JT’ Green, of Cedar Rapids, Parker Raymond Green of Muscatine, Ethan William Green of Muscatine, and Gavin Benjamin Green of Muscatine; one brother, Kevin Stuart; two sisters-in-law, Sheila Smith and Gayle Carber; two brothers-in-law, Craig Bracker and Rance Leonard; foster siblings, Gary Holcomb and Jane Holcomb; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Geraldine; her foster parents, Thomas and Ramona Holcomb; siblings, David M. Stuart, Larry Smith, Alan Smith, Steven Stuart, Sandy Stuart Leonard, and Dennis Smith; and foster brother, Alan Holcomb.
