REVEREND KENNETH COOLEY

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Reverend Kenneth Cooley, 81, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. His sons, Jamie Cooley and Tony Cooley, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Judi Cooley. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Kenneth was born on February 13, 1942, in Iowa City, the son of Arthur Cooley and Velma Seitz. He married Judi Evans on December 9, 1963.

Kenneth was a pastor of 34 years and was a state and county chaplain for Muscatine, Burlington, and Fort Madison. He then went to barber and then retired. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing in church, classic cars, and spending time with his friends and family.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Judi Cooley of Muscatine; eight children, Daniel Cooley and wife, Dina, of Muscatine, Tony Cooley and wife, Deann, of Davenport, Scott Cooley and wife, Lashawn, of Michigan, Malissa Ruhlow and husband, Tracey, of Des Moines, Jamie Cooley and wife, Tammy, of Phoenix, Arizona, Matthew Cooley of Muscatine, Terry Cooley of Tennessee, and Christopher Cooley of Missouri; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Pamela Harrison of Moline, Illinois, and Connie Curry and husband, Dewayne, of Fruitland.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Kyle Ruhlow; and granddaughter, Larissa Cooley.
