RICHARD HERMAN HAMMOND

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Richard Hammond, 55, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Wesley United Methodist Church. Reverend Kayla Lange-Carney will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Richard was born on May 8, 1970, in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Herman and Patricia J. King Hammond. He married Trisha Vestal on August 19, 1995, in Winterset, Iowa.

He was a member of the CPA society, volunteered at Wesley United Methodist Church, and enjoyed grilling and taking care of his lawn. Richard loved spending time with his family and watching baseball, especially the Yankees.

Richard is survived by his wife, Trisha Hammond; children, Caleb Hammond and Megan Hammond; parents, Herman and Patricia Hammond; and nieces and nephews, Zachary King, Dylan (Paige) King, Taylor Cameron, Shaylee Smet, Brylee Smet, Bennett Smet, Nichole Cameron, Mason Vestal, and Kaden Vestal; his brother, Tom (Tammy) Hammond; mother and father-in-law, Dixie and Bruce Bodeen; and his In-laws, Todd and Michele Cameron, Rusty and Marcy Smet, and Richie (Angie Smith) Vestal.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Mary King; and father-in-law, Richard Vestal.
