MUSCATINE, Iowa – Richard Peterson, 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home.

Funeral Service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Matt Haecker will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Vickie. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Richard was born on August 7, 1952, in Oakville, Iowa, the son of Charles and Lena Evans Peterson. He married Vickie Eisele on June 7, 1986, at New Era Church in Muscatine. They were married for 40 years.

Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hunting. He enjoyed online shopping and yard sales. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his boys and grandchildren. He loved his dog, Cooper, and his cat, Ozzy.

Richard is survived by his wife, Vickie; children, Corie (Ronda) Peterson, Adam (Noor) Andrews, and Matthew Peterson; grandchildren, Hayley and Morgan; siblings, Alice (Roger) Sorden and Dave (Phylis) Peterson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Butch; and sisters, Marge and Betty.
