ROBERT CARTER “BOB” VAUL

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Robert Carter “Bob” Vaul, 58, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the University of Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Special Olympics. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Bob was born on January 21, 1967, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Richard A. and Sharon K. Morrison Vaul.

Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church, even joining True Singers at the church. He was also a member of the Special Olympics in which he powerlifted, Strikers Bowling League, Endeavors, and Crossroads where he worked for 19 years.

Bob was an avid Hawkeye and Vikings fan, watching and doing wrestling, and watching Bandits games. Bob loved anything to do with music, especially anything Elvis. He enjoyed karaoke, listening to the bands at Boonies and the Brew, dancing, and shopping. Bob travelled to Graceland and said it was the best trip he ever went on. He loved spending time with his friends at Optimae. He has a good soul with a happy personality. A stranger was just a friend he hadn’t met. He was very respectful and accepted everyone.

Bob is survived by his mother, Sharon (Gerald) Green; siblings, Rick Vaul, Samantha (Gary) Gieger, Stephanie (Jason) Witherow, and Bryan (Tracy) Green; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, Richard Vaul; sister, Shirley Marie Vaul; and grandparents.
