ROBERT “BOBBY” GENE STARKWEATHER

MUSCATINE, Iowa- Robert “Bobby” Gene Starkweather passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 75. Bobby will be remembered as a sweet and gentle soul who brought joy to everyone, fortunate enough to know him.

Graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and online condolence may be expressed at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Bobby was born on July 23, 1949, in Muscatine, Iowa to Anna Delores Starkweather. He was a lifelong lover of Spider-Man, Bobby loved to hear the hero’s tales of courage, kindness, and resilience. The enthusiasm he felt for the web-slinger was beyond infectious and he often wore a warm smile that could light up any room, just like his favorite superhero’s iconic red and blue suit.

Bobby loved the little things in life. He loved going out to shop for groceries or to find a new Spider-Man item to add to his collection. He enjoyed good food, even more if he could share it with his roommates at the dinner table over stories and laughter. He loved nothing more than spending time with his dear roommates and making them family. He made every gathering special with his presence. Bobby had this unique way of checking in with everyone to make sure they were okay and taken care of. He also loved to look his best, often in his black pants and dressy shoes, a signature style that showed pride and attention to detail. His roommates, who were his chosen family, felt his unwavering kindness and support daily. Whether it was with a cold Pepsi in his hand or over the dinner table, Bobby made a moment special in every way.

One of Bobby’s most endearing qualities was his welcoming nature. He greeted everyone with a radiant smile, leaving behind an unforgettable impression of warmth and kindness. To those who knew him, his smile wasn’t just an expression but a gift that brightened even the cloudiest of days. We will deeply miss his smile, his laugh, and the joy he brought into our lives.

Though he is no longer with us, the memory of Bobby will always survive in the hearts of all his friends and family and in every soul, he has touched with his truthful love for life. As his favorite hero, Spider-Man, has taught us, the goodness, resilience, and care that Bobby has shown to us have really made a difference in this world. Let us always remember to face the world with a smile, just like Bobby did so easily. Rest in Peace Bobby. One will never forget your love of Spider-Man and Pepsi, your gentle heart, and your happy spirit.

Bobby is preceded in death by his mother Anna Starkweather and his brother Jeff Starkweather.
