Nune was born on May 12, 1976, in Iowa City, the son of Robert and Rebeca Enriquez. He married Leslie Morales on March 14, 2020.
He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1994. He worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years, most recently a general manager at Arby’s. He was a member of Calvary Church.
His passion in life was music. Nune had been playing in bands for many years, most recently being in Grupo Realidad. His bands helped entertain families throughout the Midwest celebrating weddings, quinceañeras, and special occasions. He started playing at the age of 5, when he got up on stage to play the piano with his father’s band. At the age of 17, he recorded an album with his first band ‘Jovenaso’. He was always known as the original Jovenaso. He played all the instruments, including the bass, piano, drums, and the guitar. He liked to sing and make music because he knew it made people happy.
He loved spending time with his family, friends, close relatives and his cats. He enjoyed watching his children play sporting events. He was a mentor and coach to children and adults. He wanted to see others succeed and was always a helping hand. He enjoyed coaching soccer at the YMCA. He was always mentoring people that he met to help them overcome challenges in their lives. He always saw the good in people and could turn bad situations into stories we could learn from. Rob was a jokester and was always making people laugh, even in the hardest times. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Morales; nine children, Robert Enriquez III, Celeste Enriquez, Rebecca Forbes, Zander Jinson, Marco Morales, Addyson Johnson Enriquez, Aidan Mendoza, Angel Mendoza, and Ethan Johnson Enriquez; one grandson, Michael Shoemaker ‘MJ23’; his parents, Robert and Rebecca Enriquez; three siblings, Jess Enriquez, George Enriquez, and Sonia Ruvalcaba and husband, Luis; maternal grandmother, Maria Talamante; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
