RUTH ARLENE FITCHNER

NEW BOSTON, Illinois – Ruth Arlene Fitchner, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at her home.

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Calvin Lindstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in Ruth’s honor. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Ruth was born on July 3, 1932, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Vincent and Hattie McGowan Calvert. She married Paul Otto Fitchner on July 9, 1955, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2022.

Ruth graduated from Muscatine High School in 1950. She was involved in the Shaklee business for many years as a sales rep.

Ruth was the youngest of nine children. She supported Paul in the family farm for many years.

Ruth is survived by her children, Craig (Diane) Fitchner and Clark (Vickie) Fitchner; grandchildren, Rebekah (Calvin) Lindstrom, Carolyn (Jeff) McKay, Luke (Ashley Reed) Fitchner, Seth Fitchner, Laurel (Jake) Kramer, Gretchen (Josiah) Kramer, Emily (Whittaker) Bennett, Adam (Heather) Fitchner, Nathan (Susan Winter) Fitchner, Valerie Fitchner, Zachary (Michelle) Fitchner, Zane (Esme Flores) Fitchner, and Tyler (Linsey) Fitchner; 23 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fitchner.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and all eight siblings.
