SCOTT ZAEHRINGER

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Scott Zaehringer, 53, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Genesis.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Headquarters. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Olivia Wadden. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Scott was born on June 16, 1972, in Muscatine, the son of Larry and Nancy Ridenour Zaehringer.

Scott was truly the life of the party. Known by many nicknames among friends, he had a way of bringing laughter and energy wherever he went. There was never a dull moment when Scott was around. He could make anyone laugh, but he was also the kind of person who truly listened and cared about what others were going through.

Scott was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work at the steel company (Norfork Iron Metal). His coworkers often said he had a special ability to make any machine work and could solve problems that others couldn't. He approached everything in life by thinking it through and giving it his all.

Outside of work, Scott loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, playing the drums and guitar, and woodworking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, Kelly, and his two dogs, Bailey and Jazzy. Those moments meant the world to him.

Scott was deeply loved by his family, friends, grandchildren, and coworkers. His presence, laughter, and caring heart will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Scott will be deeply missed by his children, Olivia (Dayne) Wadden, Kaylee Zaehringer, and Dalton Dickey; grandchildren, Isla Wadden, Julian Wadden, Zayne Dickey, Erin Dickey, Lilith Dickey, and Daxton Dickey; niece, Tessa (Josh) Carlson; and special friend, Kelly Norman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lisa Marks; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
