SHARON EILEEN LANE

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Sharon Eileen Lane, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Lutheran Homes.

A private family service will be held at a later date in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor, to the family. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Sharon was born on November 7, 1937, in Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Chrystal Johnston Lathrop. She married Luther Reese on February 18, 1956, and later divorced. She later married Paul Lane and they divorced.

Sharon worked as a secretarial clerical for Iowa Children’s and Family Services in Ottumwa. She lived in Arizona from 2003-2021, where she enjoyed the sunshine. She was very proud of her matriarch position after she raised seven kids.

Sharon loved to watch scary movies. She was a Scorpio with a feisty personality.

Sharon is survived by her children, Pamela Cremer, Kimberly (Randy) Thomas, Leanna (Shawn) Peters, Christopher Lane, Jennifer (Pat) Soots, and Nicholas (Mandi) Lane; grandchildren, Kristi, Lindsay, Alison, Benjamin, Carra, Christopher, Aaron, Amy, Alicia, Garrett, and Cayden; great grandchildren, Henry, Harrison, Judah, Aaliyah, Noah, Rainee, Zerick, Laila, Kambria, Pieper, Daphne, Jettson, Colton, Charlotte, Sullivan, Sophie, and Laeklynn; and her beloved kitty, Simon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deanna Lane; infant granddaughter, Angela Thomas; grandson, Matthew Thomas; great granddaughter, Sayla Lane; sisters, Evelyn Stirts and Joyce Stuff; and son-in-law, Thomas Cremer.
