Sheila was born on May 28, 1954, in Muscatine, the daughter of Carl E. and Maryann Huff Hines. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1972. On July 8, 1972, Sheila married Steven Howell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They would spend the next 52 years together.
Sheila worked for Muscatine Power and Water and Water Generating Station for 18 years. Her passion was being a PartyLite consultant where she made many friends and traveled the world.
Sheila enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her class of 1972 and Friday Night Golf League at the West Liberty Country Club. She was an avid WLLR fan, having won multiple contests, including a trip to see ‘The Voice’. She was a master chef in the kitchen. Sheila loved spending time in the garden with her father, taking care of her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family in Florida drinking her favorite sons-in-law’s margaritas. To know Sheila was to know her infectious laugh and smiling face.
Those left to honor her memory include her father, Carl Hines; husband, Steven Howell of Muscatine; her children Matthew Howell (Heidi) of Muscatine, and Melissa Wilson (Justin) of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Kevin, Olivia, Maisy, Elsie, Tyler (Amanda), Gage, Emma (Austin), Chloe, Jakob, and Mackenzie; great grandchildren, Dempsey and Aaliyah; siblings, Rich Hines, Denise Gaeta, and Julia Strause; and best friend, Pam Fullerton.
