SHEILA LEPLEY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Sheila Lepley, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Genesis East Davenport, surrounded by family.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A private family burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to your local woman’s shelter. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Sheila was born on April 20, 1949, in Muscatine, the daughter of Donald and Janet (Korneman) Battey. She married Fred Lepley in 1979. They were married for 47 years.

Sheila was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a supervisor for Census in 2000. She had a catering and baking business.

Sheila enjoyed traveling, cooking, golfing, and camping in the last 20 years. She also enjoyed going to Disney parks and playing cards and Rummikub and was the best Euchre partner. Sheila and Fred enjoyed their retirement years in Winter Haven, Florida, where they have many friends in the community. Most of all, she loved her grandkids.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Fred; children, Steven (Andi) Lepley, Laura (Todd) Davis, Valerie (Lance) Lorfeld, Pamela Lepley, and Fred (Paula) Lepley Jr.; 10 grandchildren, Amber Lepley, Marty Davis, Evan Davis, Amelia Steiner, Sydney Mezs, Chase Lorfeld, Molly Lorfeld, Sarah Lepley, Caden Lepley, and Samantha Lepley; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Corky (Pam) Battey and Jake Diercks.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
