Sheri Anne James

Sheri Anne Jordan James, 50, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away at home in her family’s loving arms on September 20, 2026.

Born on February 25, 1976, in Aurora, IL.  Sheri was the daughter of Barbara Kleb Jordan and Wesley Jordan. Sheri is survived by her husband, Isaac C. James; her daughter, Brianne Reneé James; her son, Isaac C. “Junior” James; her mother, Barbara Kleb Jordan; her father, Wesley Jordan; and her brother, Ron Jordan, and his wife, Mary Beth. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law, Beverly Foster, and her well-respected father-in-law, Lester C. James Jr.

Sheri loved working at the Senior Resources Center in Muscatine, where her work and the people she met held a special place in her life. In 2014, the Iowa Adult Day Services Association recognized her with its Volunteer Service Award.

Throughout years of serious health challenges, Sheri faced each new difficulty with determination. Her familiar saying—“Time to put on my big girl pants”—reflected the strength and perseverance she brought to life.

A celebration of Sheri’s life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, September 28, at the American Legion, 110 S. Houser St., Muscatine, IA 52761. Friends and family are invited to attend, and a catered buffet will be served. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Guests are encouraged to bring special photos and memories to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Sheri’s family to assist with funeral and related expenses.  Checks may be made payable to Isaac C. James.
