MUSCATINE, Iowa – Stephanie ‘Steph’ Kay Palmer (50) of Muscatine, Iowa, unexpectedly passed away at her home on May 29, 2023.

A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. At 1:00, a celebration of life services will be held with memories shared. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her mother to assist with funeral costs and charity of family’s choice. Steph was born on July 16, 1972, in Iowa City, daughter of Francis L. and Linda K. (Yerington) Palmer. After Steph graduated from Muscatine High School in 1990, she went on to complete her Associated of Arts degree at Muscatine Community College.

After graduating, Steph worked at Jacks Discount and then CDS in Wilton where she developed a close relationship with many team members. She also worked part-time at Sprouse Distributing (Muscatine) for 14 years as a weekend merchandiser stocking Pepsi-Cola product on the shelves of Fareway, Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Mainstreet Grill, WFO and Walmart. She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.

Anyone who knew Steph knew she was a thoughtful, kind-hearted and strong person. She loved spending precious time with her best friend (mom) with trips to Florida, attending doctor visits, visiting many family members, dining out or just spending time at mom’s house. She also had a passion for spending time with her niece and two nephews while aunt sitting (discount rate), attending their sporting events or even providing them uber services.

Steph enjoyed the ocean views and spending time at the shooting range. During her spare time, she loved cross stitching and crafting with her cricket machine.

She is survived by her mother Linda of Muscatine; father Francis (Connie) of Atalissa; brother Brian Palmer and significant other Tammi Heaton of Muscatine; niece Danielle (Conan) Henderson of Cedar Rapids; nephew Zachary Palmer of Muscatine; and nephew Cole Palmer and girlfriend Kylie Green of Muscatine.

Steph was predeceased in death by her grandparents and John Barclay.
