SUSAN ANN SCHULTE

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Susan Ann Schulte, 71, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home.

Susan was born in Muscatine, Iowa on September 7, 1954, the daughter of John James “Jack” and Betty Jane Cottrell Bradley. She lived in Muscatine her entire life, except for a year in Fayoum, Egypt and one in Bemidji, Minnesota. She attended K through 12 school in Muscatine and attended the Muscatine Community College and Scott Community College where she received her associate degrees.

Susan married Ron Schulte in 1981 and has 2 daughters, Mallory Beth and Hilary Kate.

Susan worked at the reference desk at the Musser Public Library before her daughters were born and for the Muscatine School System as a para-educator after they were both in school.

Susan was an active member of Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and puzzles (crosswords, crypto quote, jigsaw, etc). She was a fan of The Beatles and all things spooky. A lover of travel, she and Ron spent their retirement traveling the world.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Betty Bradley and her nephew, Jason Howard.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ron; her daughters, Mallory (John) Moffitt of Muscatine, Iowa and Hilary (Nick) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and her sister, Nancy Howard of Muscatine, Iowa.

There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bloomington - Muscatine Friends Church. A time for food and fellowship will follow at the church. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
