SUZANNE ‘SUZY’ CHENEY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Suzanne ‘Suzy’ Cheney, 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Lutheran Living.

A Committal Service will be at 11:30am on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Willie Rosin will officiate. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Living. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Suzy was born on May 29, 1951, in Story City, Iowa, the daughter of Vern Guy and Ruth D. Barnett Perisho.

In 1978, she married her best friend, Robert ‘Bob’ Cheney. They started to play music together around the city, Marin and Sonoma counties in California. They became FRISCO and took the show to Canada, most of the U.S., and the Caribbean. They spent 35 years on the road making music for friends, family, and love. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2016.

Suzy loved her cat, Bud. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, walking and swimming. She enjoyed cooking with her husband and making life-long friends while traveling the country together.

Suzy is survived by her brothers, Mark Perisho and wife, Sarah and Rex Perisho and his wife, Marcie; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Burghardt and her husband, Thomas, and Deborah May; brother-in-law, Michael Cheney; several cousins; and nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; in-laws, David and Barbara Cheney; and sister-in-law, Margaret Peila.
