THOMAS JAMES EMERICK

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Thomas James Emerick, 81, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at his home. Tom chose donation through the Deeded Body Program at the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Faith United Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to Faith United Church of Christ. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at church. Reverend Paris White will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Tom was born on September 3, 1943, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, the son of Allen Cordell and Louise Brown Emerick. He married Ann Heinemeyer on April 14, 1972, in Rockton, Illinois.

He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ where he taught Sunday school, served on Vestry and other boards, and attended Center Learn for those interested in Lay Ministry. Tom also served multiple rural churches in the area.  He was a Shriner, involved in Veterans for Peace, and was a past Mason Grand Master of Blackberry Lodge #359 in Elburn, Illinois.

Tom loved to cook,  restoring his ’63 MGB, and aviation. He was an avid reader, very involved at Faith United Church of Christ, he started Bag of Blessings for Muscatine School District and was a supportive parent and grandparent. His family was everything. Tom was selfless and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife; Ann of Muscatine; three children, Thomas Emerick and wife, Enkon, of Crestview, Florida, Tony Emerick and wife, Monica, of Mavisville, Virginia, and Julie Emerick-Kundel and husband, Steven, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Lauren Kundel, Andrew Kundel, and Lukas Emerick; and two siblings, Allen Emerick and Howard Emerick.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents.
