TWYLA “HORTENSE” ROWE
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Twyla “Hortense” Rowe was reunited with her husband Calvin, on March 29, 2024.
Celebration of Life will be held Celebration of Life will be held on August 17th, 2024, from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Salisbury Lodge. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
She was born on February 12, 1927, to George (Pappy) and Twyla Miller in Conesville, OH.
She met her husband Calvin in Grandview, IA and they married on June 12, 1947. Together they had 4 children, Gale, Randall, James, and Twyla.
She enjoyed reading anything and everything she could get her hands on, gardening, traveling, anything pink, and baking the best pies.
She was a lifetime member of the Muscatine American Legion Auxiliary post 27 where she held numerous offices. She also was a volunteer at the VA hospital in Iowa.
She loved to tell people she was almost 100.
She will be missed by her children, Gale (Ed), Randy, Jim (Sue), and Twyla. She will be remembered as granny, grandma, and Aunt Tensie by many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She will be greeted by her husband; parents; in laws; many friends; brother; sister; daughter-in-law; and son-in-law.
