VIOLA GONZALES

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Viola Gonzales, 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the University of Iowa, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family, in the care of Juan, to help assist with the purchase of a headstone.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Viola was born on September 11, 1958, in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Juan DeLeon Sr. and Guadalupe Cerna DeLeon. She married Juan Gonzales on December 30, 1986, in Muscatine.

Viola liked to stay active with dancing and exercising. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Viola is survived by her husband, Juan; daughters, Lucinda Perez, Rebecca Garcia, and Jannie Gonzales Jacobs (Andrew); 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and siblings, Otila DeLeon, Mary DeLeon, Patty Underwood, Joel DeLeon, Ramona DeLeon, and Irma DeLeon. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, John, and Jose; and sisters, Becky and Yolanda.
