VIRGINIA F. DIETZ

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Virginia Dietz, 94, passed away on February 18, 2026, after a short illness.

Virginia was born on December 26, 1931, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the second of four children born to Albertus Bartels and Margaret (DeBoer) Bartels.  She married Gilbert Dietz in June 1957 and they moved to Muscatine, Iowa in 1958.  Over the next 66 years, they thrived together, raising a family, developing lasting friendships, and serving their community.  He proceeded her in death on 1/2/2024.

Virginia worked as a secretary for the Muscatine School District and later became an insurance agent, working for Lee Insurance Agency for many years. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Muscatine, serving on multiple service committees, including the development of the Emmaus Café. Virginia was an active member of P.E.O. and an avid Bridge player. She loved to bake and share her treats during coffee with friends.  She touched the lives of so many and will be missed by all. 

Preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Virginia leaves behind three children, Daniel, Atlanta, GA, Rachel (Timothy Imhoff), Sarasota Fl, and Patrick (Lori), Tiffin, IA, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her brother Peter (Louise), Belleview, WA.
