WAYNE K. CRUMP SR.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Wayne K. Crump Sr., 89, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home, with his wife, Pat, at his side.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Muscatine. Pastor David McIntosh and Pastor J.T. Haycraft will officiate. Military Services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine City, Inc, at the burial in Letts Cemetery. A time for food and fellowship will follow the burial at the church. Pallbearers will be Wayne Crump Jr., John Crump, Bob Arndt, Tim Arndt, Mike Ford, and Noah Crump. Honorary pallbearers will be Easton Ford, Mason Crump, Sawyer Arndt, and Lawson Arndt.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors in his honor. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Wayne was born on August 24, 1935, in Collettsville, North Carolina, the son of Roy S. and Emma (Tolbert) Crump. He married Patricia Louise Meiners in 1956. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary together.

Even though Wayne left the mountains of NC as a youngster, they were always in his heart. He loved to tell everyone about the adventures he and his brothers had at John’s River. Wayne proudly served his country in the Company E, 1st Battalion, US Army from 1958 to 1960. He retired from HON after 22 years.

Wayne graduated from Wells High School in Chicago. Wayne came to know Christ as his Savior as a young adult at Bowmanville Baptist Church in Chicago. After Wayne became a believer, he was on fire for the Lord, and witnessed to anyone who would listen. He and his precious wife, Pat, served God faithfully through the years. After moving to Iowa in 1975, Wayne served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, and an usher in the local church.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Pat; three children, Wayne Jr. (Valarie) Crump, Debbie (Bob) Arndt, and John (Michelle) Crump; grandchildren, Stuart (Kristy) Kerns, Elyse Kerns, Becky (Mike) Ford, Tim (Kate) Arndt, Kaitlynn Crump, Kaylie Crump, Noah Crump, and Mason Crump; great grandchildren, Easton, Aubrey, Avery, Callie, Sawyer, Lawson, and Maxie; brother, Frank S. (Irene) Crump; many special cousins; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Lou; brothers, Roy, Stemple, and Jay; and nephews, Tim Crump and Patrick Crump.
