STOCKTON, Iowa – Willodean 'Willie' C. Chalupa, 89, of Stockton, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at her home.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street, Muscatine. Pastor Jane Granzow of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Ron Kurriger, Dennis Kurriger, Monty McCleary, Bob Berry, Robert McMahon and Jim Wittmer. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will be held at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 404 Fourth Street, Buffalo, following the committal service.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
Mrs. Chalupa was born on February 12, 1918, in Seaton, Illinois, the daughter of William 'Midge' and Ora Frick McCleary. She married Walter E. Chalupa on April 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2000.
She had worked as a machine operator at the Ralston Purina Company in Davenport.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Women of the Moose and the Lady Elks. She enjoyed dancing, singing, playing cards, and family gatherings.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann Schmidt and husband, Eric, of Springfield, Illinois, and Mary Jo Chalupa of Stockton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Jean Kurriger of Muscatine; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Willodean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Donald Lee Chalupa; one grandson, Eric Schmidt, Jr.; one great-grandson, Rodney Kissell; a brother, Kenneth McCleary; and two sisters, Vivian Berry and Estelline Hepker.
