She had worked for Fiddlestick's Dairy Freeze, Cohn's 10 cent Store, Schmarje Tool Company, and at the Muscatine County Sheriff's Department.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge. Nina enjoyed camping, sitting outside in her yard and on her swing, riding in her son's semis, and going to the casino. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Kim Kneese of Muscatine, Marcus Montagna Jr. and wife, Diana, of West Liberty, Robert Montagna and Gary Montagna, both of Muscatine, and Johnny Montagna of Tipton; her daughters, Gloria Schmelzer and husband, Jerry of Arkansas, and Robin Leaf and husband, Scott, of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Gale McIntosh; and her siblings, Verle, Ty, Rita, Jim, and Calvin.
My condolences to the family. What a long beautiful life Nina lived. It was wonderful that your family gathered around her in her final days. Another gift Nina received in her life was a friendship that grew into a mother / daughter relationship with Sheri Steiner. Her dedication, love and unselfish care came from her heart. I'm certain Nina was very at peace with this kindred soul who was with her till her final day. May Nina be at peace and that perpetual light shine upon her. Amen
