MARY JO 'JODY' CHALUPA
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary Jo 'Jody' Chalupa, 69, of Stockton, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019, at her home.

Jody was born on November 1, 1950, in Davenport, the daughter of Larry and Joann Chalupa Zier. She was adopted and raised by Walter E. 'Walt' and Willodean C. 'Willie' McCleary Chalupa. Walt preceded her in death on November 19, 2000 and Willie on December 12, 2007.
Jody loved animals and rescued many cats. She enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and flowers and had worked at Radio Shack and Walmart.
Jody is survived by her girlfriend of twenty five years, Dorothy Parker, of Stockton; her biological mother, Joann Schmidt and her husband Eric; three sisters, Bobbie Kissell, of Washington, Linda Tate and Andrea Riess, both of Springfield, Illinois; and her nephew, Michael Chalupa.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Walt and Willie Chalupa, her biological father, Larry Zier, her brother, Donald Lee Chalupa, her nephew, Eric Schmidt Jr. and her great nephew, Rodney Kissell.
Jody loved to play games on her phone
Although I did not know Jody well I do know that she had a very kind loving heart. Throughout her life she loved & cared for Jehovah's creation. She mostly loved Jehovah's animal creations mostly cats. If she saw a cat outside that was cold or sick both her & long term friend Dottie would open there arms & home & take them in to care for all their needs. If the cat needed to see a vet because they were sick or needed to be nutered they would do it at their own expense. She was very much involved with no kill shelters for animals. She valued life and would not consider ending their life. Both her & her friend fell in love with many of the cats they took in and as a result they were the loving caretakers of 11 cats in their home & Jody wanted her friend Dotty to carry on taking care of their furry family. I am sure that she will lovingly care for them all until they pass by natural causes. I look forward to meeting Jody again after the reserection of all our dead loved ones when Jehovah God does away with death as he promises life everlasting in the new world. I will not say good bye I will say rest peacefully until I will see you soon after the resurection by Jehovah God ,.

Always so much more to say...Gone too soon, if not for the cancer we could have many more years together, I am sad you are gone, this house is so quiet without you. The cats miss you, I know how much you loved them. I Love you, May we meet again...
Good times with friends...
