MUSCATINE, Iowa - Fern McFadon, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the University of Iowa.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Ty Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to It Takes a Village and Spring Valley Bible Camp. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Fern was born on November 25, 1947, in Iowa City, the daughter of Lauren and Nona Eisele Jarrett. She married Terry McFadon on July 1, 1967, in Muscatine.
Fern enjoyed cross-stitching, bead art, ceramics, cake decorating, and scrapbooking. She enjoyed sewing, especially making doll clothes and her children's costumes. Fern liked watching TV and going to the races.
Fern is survived by her husband, Terry; children, Tim McFadon, Shonna McFadon, and Chad McFadon; grandchildren, Tawny, Jacob, Luke, Seth, and Nile; great grandchildren, Callahan and Harlow; one sister, Linda Jarrett.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson, Sammy.
May you all look back on the precious memories and find peace in knowing that your mom raised amazing people.
While growing up, I was close to Fern's son, Chad. Fern and Terry always provided a welcoming place to land and were warm and inviting. I have many fond memories of Fern. My condolences to the family at this time of loss.
